The 7 Wonders of South Africa

While in South Africa for the 2010 Soccer World Cup you can visit these magnifisent sites.

Drakensberg


This mountian range stretches over a distance of 200Km and is the highest in SA at 3 450m.

It also has approx. 35 000 "San Rock Art Images."




Tsitsikamma Forest




Situated along the garden route and stretches along the coast for about 80Km.

It consists mainly of ancient Yellow wood and Stink wood trees.





Blyde River Canyon





Situated 25Km north of Pilgrim's Rest in Mpumalanga the canyon is about 25Km long and cuts through the Drakensberg mountian range.







Cradle Of Human Kind




It is classified as a world heritage site and covers an area of 47 000 hectares.
There are over 200 caves and 13 fossil sites found in this area.




Karoo National Park





It is dominated by the Nuweveld mountian on the outskirts of Beaufort West with an area of 75 000 hectares.





Table Mountian




It boasts with about 2 250 plant species and stretches 1 086m above sea level.












Cape Point


Situated about an hour's drive from Cape Town, the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian ocean.
